How to Take Good Feet Pics With Just Your Phone

Prep, light, angles and simple edits that make buyers stop scrolling.

Get your feet ready

  • Wash and dry your feet, then moisturize an hour before so the skin looks smooth but not shiny.
  • Trim and file your nails. Fresh polish or clean bare nails both work. Chipped polish does not.
  • Smooth rough heels with a foot file a day or two before a big shoot.
  • Take off socks early so the sock lines fade.

Find the light

  • Shoot near a window during the day. Soft daylight is the most flattering light you can get.
  • Avoid direct midday sun. It makes hard shadows and washes out skin.
  • At night, use a lamp with a warm bulb or a cheap ring light, placed in front of your feet, not behind.
  • Turn off the overhead light if it makes your skin look yellow or green.

Angles that work

  • Soles: shoot straight on at sole height, not from above.
  • Tops: shoot slightly from above with toes pointed to lengthen the foot.
  • Arches: a side view, close to the floor.
  • POV: hold the phone at eye level and look down at your feet.
  • Move the camera, not your feet. Small changes in height change the whole shot.

Phone settings

  • Clean the lens. A smudge makes every photo soft.
  • Use the main camera (1x) or 2x. Wide angle stretches feet.
  • Tap to focus on the toes, then slide exposure down a little so skin does not glow.
  • Turn on the grid and keep lines straight.
  • Take a burst of each pose and keep the sharpest.
  • Turn off location in your camera settings, especially for videos.

Edits

  • Crop out anything that distracts or gives away where you live.
  • Small brightness and warmth changes are enough. Heavy filters look fake.
  • Keep the same look across a set so it feels like one shoot.

Photos you upload here lose their location data automatically. Videos do not, so check the setting before you film. Ideas to shoot are in feet pic ideas.

Common questions

Do I need a professional camera for feet pics?

No. A recent phone in good daylight is enough. Light and a clean lens matter more than the camera.

What is the best light for feet pics?

Soft daylight from a window. At night, a warm lamp or ring light in front of your feet.

Should I edit feet pics?

Lightly. Crop, adjust brightness and warmth, and keep one look across a set. Heavy filters look fake.
