Stay safe

Almost every scam starts the same way: someone asks you to pay, or get paid, somewhere other than the site. Here is what to watch for and what to do.

Updated October 2026

The one rule

Only pay, or get paid, on TootsieTrader. Buyers pay with Cash App, Strike or 25+ other apps, and the creator is paid within seconds. Anyone asking you to pay or be paid any other way is a scammer.

Scams we see most

Pay me directly

Someone wants to pay or be paid in their own Cash App, PayPal or gift cards, often "to save fees" or for a "deposit".

Say no. Every sale and tip goes through the site. Direct payments are final and nothing records the sale.

Move to another app

They push to switch to Snapchat, Telegram, WhatsApp or text before anything is agreed.

Keep it in our chat. Off-site, we cannot see what was said or help you.

Fake admin or support

A message says your account is locked, or you must pay a fee or "verify" to get paid.

Our team never asks you to send money, your password or a login code. Report it.

Fake payment proof

A buyer sends a screenshot and says they paid, so you should send the pics now.

Only send content when the order card in chat shows it was paid. A screenshot is not a payment.

Stolen photos

A profile full of pictures copied from someone else, priced well below everyone else.

Buy from verified creators, check reviews, and run a reverse image search if it feels off.

Threats and blackmail

Someone threatens to expose you, your face or your real name unless you pay.

Do not pay and do not argue. Screenshot it, block them, report it and contact support.

For creators

  • Send a custom only after the order card says paid. Never because of a screenshot or a promise.
  • Keep your face, tattoos, real name, workplace and social accounts out of photos and chat.
  • Check the background of every shot for mail, screens or anything that shows where you live.
  • Your payout goes to the Cash App or Strike handle in your settings. Nobody needs your login to pay you.
  • A buyer who will not pay on the site is not a buyer. Block and move on.

For buyers

  • Look for the verified badge and read reviews before you buy.
  • Send custom requests on the site. You pay nothing until the creator accepts.
  • Never send money to a handle someone gives you in chat.
  • Everything you buy arrives in your private chat. Nobody needs your address or real name.
  • If a custom goes wrong, open a request from the order card. You have 72 hours to sort it out together, then our team steps in.

If it happened to you

  • Stop replying and do not send anything else.
  • Take screenshots of the chat and their profile.
  • In the chat, open the menu and tap Report, then Block.
  • Tell support what happened. We read every report.

Accounts that ask for off-site payment, fake our team or threaten people get suspended. If you were scammed, telling us helps stop it happening to the next person.
