How to Take Feet Pics by Yourself

No helper needed: phone timers, cheap stands and angles you can shoot alone.

Most creators shoot alone. With a timer and something to lean your phone on, you can get every common angle without asking anyone for help.

What you need

  • Your phone.
  • Something to hold it: a small tripod with a phone clip, a stack of books, or a glass against the wall.
  • Window light or a ring light. See lighting for feet pics.
  • A clean, plain background: a bedsheet, a rug or a towel.

Use the timer and burst

  • Set the camera timer to 3 or 10 seconds so you have time to pose.
  • On most phones, holding the shutter or swiping it takes a burst of photos. Pick the best one later.
  • A cheap Bluetooth shutter remote lets you take photos from across the room.
  • Or record a short video and save the best still frame.

Angles you can shoot alone

AngleHow to set it up
SolesLie on your stomach with your knees bent and feet up. Phone on a stand at the end of the bed, at foot height.
Top of the feetSit with legs out straight. Hold the phone above your knees and shoot down.
POVSit on a couch or bed with your feet toward you. Hold the phone at chest height and shoot down your legs.
Side and archPoint your toes and turn one foot to the side. Phone on a low stand, level with your foot.
Feet upLean back on a couch with your feet on a table. Phone on a stand across the table.

Filming foot videos alone

  • Lock the phone on a stand. Shaky handheld video looks cheap.
  • Start recording, get in place, and trim the start and end later.
  • Keep clips short. More on that in how to sell foot videos.

Check the frame

Before you post, look for anything that gives away who or where you are: mail, family photos, a window view, tattoos you do not want shown. If your face is in the shot, turn on Blur my face when you post. Strip location data from your photos too.

Common questions

How do I take pictures of my own soles?

Lie on your stomach with your knees bent and feet up, and put your phone on a stand at foot height. Use the timer or a Bluetooth shutter remote.

Do I need a tripod for feet pics?

No, but it helps. A stack of books or a glass against the wall works. A small phone tripod costs little and makes video much steadier.

How do I get a POV feet pic alone?

Sit with your feet toward you and hold the phone at chest height, shooting down your legs.
